Hi there. So here is another recipe that i’ve come up with. It is perfectly acceptable on both a calorie controlled Diet and a Slimming World Diet. Which is one reason why I really like it. I have recently tried a calorie controlled Diet and hardly lost any weight at all, so I have now changed to a Slimming World type diet to see if that will work?
The ingredients I used for this Dish are as follows:
< as always there aren’t exact measurements, I just went with ‘that looks about enough’ >
Roast Ham, cubed ( i used roast ham joint from tesco )
Fresh Pepper, orange (or any other colour you prefer)
1 sheet of Medium Egg Noodles (i used sharwoods medium egg noodles)
A whole fresh onion
3 cloves of fresh garlic
about an inch of fresh ginger
Everglades Seasoning (seasoning mixture from USA, can easily be substituted for your favorite spice mixture)
a dash or two of Maggi liquid seasoning
a good helping of light soy sauce (i used amoy light soy sauce)
a pinch or two of chinese five spice
Spray Oil (I used olive oil fry light, but you can use any fry light or any oil for that matter)
The prep & cooking of it
I started by putting some music on, that is always the first thing i do when cooking or doing pretty much anything really. Once you prepared the onion, the garlic, the ginger, the ham and the pepper. You get a saucepan with plenty of water on the stove, once that starts bubbling you add the noodles, depending on what type of noodles you have will determine the cooking time. I used sharwoods dried medium egg noodles which take about 5 minutes. While that is going you spray a wok or a good frying pan with Fry Light, or the equivalent there of. Once that is heated through and starting to sizzle a little you add the spices to warm them through, then you add the liquid ingredients. Next you add a little water to make sure it doesnt stick to the pan. After that you add the rest of the ingredients and coating it all in the spice mixture. The next thing to do is to put a lid on it and check it every so often. While making through that nothing starts sticking a bit or even worse getting burned you check on the noodles. Once they are done you drain and rinse them and then add them to the pan and warm it all through together so that the Noodles are nicely mixed with everything else. Once that is done it is time to get a bowl and serve it.
There you have it a quick and easy Stir Fry Silly Daddy Style.
